On Sunday 81-year-old driver Hershel McGriff finished 13th out of 26 at the Bi-Mart Salute to the Troops 125 on the road course at Portland International Raceway in the NASCAR Camping World West Series. McGriff was the defending champion. He won the only other time the series - then known as Winston West - visited the track in 1986. It would be easy to make jokes about McGriff's appearance in the race. I could tell you that the race was marred by several EFFERDENT debris cautions. I could say

Date Set For 2010 Toyota All-Star Showdown

NASCAR announced Saturday that the 2010 NASCAR Toyota All-Star Showdown, the seventh running of the event, will take place at Toyota Speedway in Irwindale, Calif. on Jan. 29-30. The highlight event of the weekend will be the 225-lap Camping World Series All-Star race. Montville's Matt Kobyluck is the defending champion of the event. The weekend schedule will also include a 100-lap Whelen All-American Series Super Late Model race and a 75-lap Whelan All-American Series Late Model event.

The 5′9″ New York Knicks player Nate Robinson aka Krypto Nate, won the Phoenix Arizona Sprite Slam dunk contest against giant 6′11″ defending champion Dwight Howard aka Superman, who plays for Orlando Magic . The contest was part of the All Star Weekend. Robinson was voted the winner by fans, garnering 52 percent of the votes. He also won the event in 2006. Check out the video below.
